Program – Our local US Army Recruiting Staff was Introduced by Buck Catlin
Sergeant Williams introduced three other army volunteers: One was being sent to Hawaii. Another earned the Distinguished Honor Graduate Award. Another was a well decorated hero who served 5 deployments to Afghanistan.
Sergeant Williams presented a slide show that emphasized Personal Growth, Army's Commitment to Safety, Job Opportunities, Money for College, and Other Benefits. There are many tangible and intangible benefits available to army personnel.
He told us that being a recruiter is a tough job but rewarding as well as challenging. He believes that here is nothing more honorable than serving one's country and preserving freedom.
Sergeant Williams told us the Orange County Flyers are having a Family Night on June 26. At 1 p.m. The Army and Air Force will play the Navy, Marines and Coast Guard. A game between the
O.C. Flyers and the Chico Outlaws with follow. Admission is free for all active and retired military personnel. Prez said we should get a contingent from Rotary Club to attend.
He emphasized that letters are greatly appreciated by the soldiers even from people they do not know.
Another excellent and informative program!
Prez Hutchison closed with a John Wooden quote that gave us the message that character is what counts.
