Prez Richey began the meeting a little bit late in order to accommodate a full house and a few late arrivals. Ned Doffoney led the flag salute. Leroy Fulton picked a song that was decidedly labor related and led us in all four verses of “I’ve been working on the railroad” which sounded a lot like “The eyes of Texas are upon you” to Dick Jones. Mark Geiss gave the invocation which reflected the Rotary and Christian view of Generosity of Spirit.
Carl Camp introduced visiting Rotarians that included Entomologist Ted Russell Placentia Rotary (Ted makes a terrific effort at perfect attendance and just might have a district record!) Guest of Rotarians included Dr. Rajen Vurdien, new President of Fullerton College (Cathy Gach); Mike Karg (Joe Lins); Wilma Peloquin (Bill); Al Zelinka, Director of redevelopment, City of Fullerton (Rick Crane); Bob Smith, close friend of Prez J; and last but not least 1975-76 Fullerton Rotary Past President Rich Scheiber and his wife Carol now residing in Oregon (hosted by Dr. Peloquin).
Announcements today included Kim Barlow talking about fundraising and awareness for Women’s Transitional Living Center (WTLC).
Kathy Allred announced the background of the 4-way Test.
Greg Hickman announced his new e-mail address Gregoryhickman@rocketmail.com as well as bragged a bit about the Fullerton Rotary’s contribution of underwriting a presentation on THE VERY SYSTEM to young people.

The club is never as excited or generous when General Dan Kiernan performs is thoughtfully well prepared stint as Finemaster.
Dan recognized Bill Goetsch on his 55 Wedding anniversary to Berta; Ted Kim on his 20th anniversary to Virginia Jean Moon; Roland Chi on his 31st birthday; and the Peloquins on their 13th anniversary.
General Kiernan then went Berserk and fined everyone who respectfully wore shorts 2 bucks each; all women members 2 bucks; all Politicians two bucks; all public servants 2 bucks, all lame ducks 2 bucks; Anyone who hasn’t been fined in a year (Carl Camp) two bucks (Carl announced the wedding of his son last week-end and because his was the father of the groom his fine was raised to 3 bucks);
Ken Kaisch and Mike Oates were fined on general principle. When net-man Blake Smith complained of being over worked Gen. Dan finally concluded his inquisition.
Warren Wimer was a Raffle Winner but did not know the trivia question of who played Ben Casey and Dr. Zorba on television (he would have done better with a Perry Mason question.)
Irene Lang introduces Andi Stein who is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication at CSUF. Andy gave a well received presentation on Route 66.
Before Prez J adjourned the meeting he pulled the newest nine ribbon from the badges of Don Landers and Irene Lang. Prez J then thanked our guests for their attendance today and closed with these words of wisdom: “Obstacles are thing you see when you take your eye off the goal”
