Promptly at the appointed time President Bill rang the bell on his first meeting. Dressed in traditional surgical scrubs and Elton John’s old new year’s eve eyeglasses, Dr. Peloquin prevailed upon Don Bankhead to lead the club in the Pledge followed by America the Beautiful led by the Griff Duncan Trio, featuring Jim Young, and Bob Savage.
Prez Bill’s first order of business was to introduce the new board of directors: Wally (past president); Mike Oates, Bob Jahncke, Tom Meyer, Bob Savage, Chris Fraschetti, Claude Jones, Winston Creel, Greg Franklin, and Terri Grassi.
Bob Clark, Jr. introduced Bill Gillespie from Fullerton South who was the day’s only visiting Rotarian. Bob McNutt, Allyn Lean, Winston Creel, Ray Hansen, Greg Franklin, Deborah Koff, and Alan Atwell all introduced guests. Alan Atwell also happily introduced a second guest and the club was happy to greet former member, Mike Mogensen, who looked tanned and robust following his recent treatments!
Prez Bill awarded Rotarian of the Week honors to Leroy Fulton for his efforts toward the wonderful demotion night held two weeks ago.

Announcements
Mike Oates thanked all the families that opened their homes to the exchange students recently.
Mike Oates also introduced the three newest Rotarians. Inducted today were Amy Kluth, Brian Chung, and Leslie McCarthy.
Jim Blackburn was burdened with three weeks worth of recognitions. He
began with Dennis Ullrich who celebrated with Jami their 13th
wedding anniversary by going out to dinner….. In
Paul Dudley, Bill Mathy, Vern Andrews Tom Meyer, and Mike Oates all were recognized for spousal birthdays.
Rick Price, Warren Wimer, Don Mlodzik, Don Bankhead, and Jim Armstrong all were recognized for their birthdays, but none paid more than Walt Ziegler did when he was warmly recognized for his 83rd birthday!
Program
Deborah Koff fulfilled another Newest Nine assignment by giving us
her Craft Talk. Debbie’s eldest daughter, Shana, was in attendance to
hear her mom detail the long road taken from humble beginnings in
President Bill took a few minutes at the end of the
meeting to outline this year’s agenda for Rotary International. This year’s RI
slogan is “Man Kind is our Business.” More information about RI and Fullerton

Special Message: The Board is very concerned about the low level of attendance of some of our members. The Board is looking at options to improve the attendance, including the use of a fine for non-attendance.
