Meeting was called to order by President Zoot Velasco who welcomed everyone at today’s meeting. He acknowledged today’s guest speaker, President Elect Joe Lins Craft Talk with a special quote, “kisses are like real estate, it’s all about location, location, location! (President Elect Joe Lins is in Residential Real Estate.)

Christian Esteban, Mike Cochran, and Jeff Hutchinson were called to the front for commencement ceremonies. Christian Esteban gave our invocation and requested a minute of silence for our Meditation Minute and Past President Mike Cochran led us in our Patriotic Moment. Standing in for our Peace Ambassador Ken Kaisch was Past President Jeff Hutchinson. President Velasco thanked Beverly and Carol for greeting and signing in today’s members and guests, and our new Rotoscribe, Fullerton College Journalism Intern Gerardo Chagolla, who was given Change Maker Poker Chip, and for helping with the meeting today.

Wednesday’s guest were Suzy Lins, wife of President Elect Joe Lins. And Sharlene Tedios, guest of member Ernie Delfin. John Phelps gave us our Rotary Minute, “Associate With Good People.” Our songmaster was Bud Lang who led us in his rendition of James Baskett’s “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah.”

Bailey Kline gave our announcements for the day. May’s offsite Meeting will be held on May 25 at Big B’s BBQ. Also, members Farrell Hirsch and Leslie McCarthy were out with COVID.

Today’s exciting Duck Race for Charity event was won by duck number 12. The winning duck was not selected which means there was no winner today. $40 next week1111

Our Recognition Master as well as our Fine master was a man who asks Y….YMCA Leader Rikki Bains. Rikki recognized member David Gillanders who celebrated his birthday on the day of the meeting. Mr. John Phelps was recognized for celebrating his wedding anniversary with wife Kerry Phelps, who frequents the YMCA gym and gives it her absolute best in her workouts. Rikki Bains will gift her preferred access to any treadmill as her anniversary gift. Member Dan Kiernan was recognized for having a birthday this month as well. Dan was tested on his baseball knowledge where he got the answer correct but graciously paid the double or nothing fine. Member Mike Cochran and his wife Gail were recognized for their wedding anniversary this month as well. Member Mike Oates was recognized for Rotary anniversary, as well, had his baseball knowledge tested where he answered correctly also. Weekly Fine Master, Joyce Capelle was honored with great sentiment during Wednesday’s meeting. And lastly, the man of the hour, President Elect Joe Lins and his wife Suzy Lins were recognized for their wedding anniversary.

Humble brags were for member Beverly Berryman and the great job she does.

Wednesday’s program at hand was Senior Member Craft Talk given by President Elect and Fullerton Rotary Club member since 2004 Joe Lins. President Elect Joe Lins gave a beautiful and inspirational talk dedicated to the love of his life, wife Suzy Lins, and his children Stephanie, Jeremy, and Casey. The journey that led to where he is today was followed by a great and fitting quote, “when you negotiate with yourself, you lose.” Charge On!

President Zoot Velasco offered President Elect Joe Lins a Change Maker Chip. Meeting was adjourn by President Zoot Velasco with a quote by that great and quotable person named Unknown, “difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations.”
