The Rev. Mike Oates gave a fitting and dignified invocation.

Recognitions:

Mark Geiss was the recognition master today but most honorees were no-shows.  Mark pressed on and recognized Dr. Bill Peloquin for stealing a joke that was delivered at an earlier meeting by Dr. Nate Kvetny.

Dr. Kvetny was fined for bribing Rick Crane to propose Dr. Kimberly Ngyuen for membership solely on the basis that she is the only professional in the city that is shorter than he is.

Mark than gave the club a football quiz that reminded us all of Dr Jimbo Blackburn.

Bob Radde won the raffle but had to settle for the $10 consolation prize from Dick Glaus.

Program: To kick off Vocational Service Month our program today featured Debbie Butler, RN, MSN, and MBA, CNOR the Director of Perioperative Services at St. Jude hospital.  Debbie gave a fantastic presentation of the original philosophy of the St Jude nursing department as well as the many challenges facing nursing today.  Rotarians were surprised to find out the elements that lead to the current and further nursing shortage in all educational levels from RN to Ph.D.
