PROGRAM

David Frost pitched for the California Angels from 1978 to 1981. In 1979, he won sixteen games and helped lead the Angels to their first division championship. That year, he was chosen as the Angel’s Most Valuable Player by the Baseball Writer’s Association of America.

After baseball, David worked as a floor trader in commodities. Then moved to presenting seminars in motivation, team building, attitude and stress management. Later, he became a columnist for the Orange County Register and wrote about sports and family issues. He has been heard on radio talk shows discussing topics on life transitions, family sports issues and athletes in crisis.

David told us about some of the nuances of baseball: Baseball is a tough business. A ballplayer has to learn to fit in and get along. Good chemistry is important. Baseball can be humbling. Many ball players have a difficult time adjusting to the big leagues and back again to private life.

He shared several humorous anecdotes with us.

David received his B.A. degree in Political Science from Stanford University and an M.A. degree in Psychololgy from Azuza Pacific University.
